Report on Anzac Day, Packsaddle and White Cliffs Gymkhanas

Well what a hectic 10 days! And as a result, no email last week! Sorry bout that.  Anzac  Day started it off with bigger numbers turning out each year. We had 60 odd for our dawn service, biggest ever, and the same everywhere.

We had the Packsaddle and White Cliffs Gymkhanas also in those 2 weekends. Both very successful, even though White Cliffs seems to have ordered rain on the wrong day!! I must also add a very special thanks to the “Gang” at ABC Radio in Broken Hill for the fantastic coverage you have given all “the corner country”  and ourselves here, well done guys.

Now, events coming up, We have a Charity Concert at the Caravan Park in Nyngan on the 3rd. May for a very worthy cause, see attached programme. We have the Annual Ivanhoe Camp Draft which is coming up on the 24th. 25th. of May for anyone heading down that way. And of course all roads lead to Broken Hill next week end for AgFair on Friday and Saturday coming. Well worth a visit for all travellers.

Easter, White Cliffs Gymkhana, Charity Concert

Good morning everyone,

Sorry I’m a day late, have been travelling till last night. Met some lovely people in Cobar and Nyngan as well.

The opening of the Jeremy Beckett photo Collection was a great success her in town last Sunday and is still on display.

Big Weekend coming up in a few centres over Easter. White Cliffs have their big Gymkhana next Saturday and Sunday, so if anyone is going that way let them know. Hermidale is also having their Sports/Gymkhana as well for anyone heading east, and it’s right on the highway!

Jeremy Beckett and Yabbie Races

What a blessing, no more Daylight Saving! Late night last night and still up in time!!  A little trivia for those interested, we have an eclipse happening twice this month, 15th. And 29th.

Quite a bit happening this month, we have “The Jeremy Beckett Art Collection” being shown in Wilcannia next Sunday at Miss Barretts Coffee Shop.

Then at White Cliffs Hotel the following Sunday (Easter) you can enjoy the Yabbie races and a few other things to entertain you as the White Cliffs folk can.

Julie Finlayson Art Exhibition + Anzac Day

The rain is slowly filling in with another chance next Thursday. We have more and more people moving around which is great, so please welcome them and pass on our activities to them.

One that crept up on me, is the “Barwonnie Ag. Expo.” At the Mossgiel Hall on Wednesday, yes day after tomorrow! 10 AM till 3 PM, anyone heading down that way let them know. There’s  also the Ivanhoe Camp Draft coming up, more on that later.
