Check road conditions, Yunta Picnic Races, Bourke Show and more

Good morning everyone,

Well back again and sorry about the absence. No grand kids hurt or lost!

Bit of rain about and they are predicting more for Anzac Day on Tuesday, suspect we will have to go to plan B. And on that note, just beware of dirt roads as there are a few storms about, could fall anywhere.

Now it seems that a good time was had by all at both Ivanhoe and White Cliffs, well done guys you always turn on a great show.

Next up is the Yunta Picnic Races and Gymkhana  next Saturday the 29th. And the same day is the Pooncarie Gun Club Championship Shoot, and a Fashion Parade that night as well at Pooncarie, you’d have to be near one of them.

The following Wednesday the 3rd. May is Graham Rodger, Country Music singer performing at White Cliffs, big night there. And the following weekend May 6th. we’re back to Pooncarie for their big Field day, always a great weekend there.

Without confusing you, the next weekend, 13th. is the Bourke Show. Big event, lots to see. And of course while you’re there you must go for a toodle on the Paddle steamer Jandra, daily cruises on the Darling. Enjoy a meal with Hully and hear his poetry at Poetry on a Plate, Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays. Heaps more to see up there too, just call to Margaret at the VIC.

Tri-State Office, White Cliffs Gymkhana and ...

Good morning to you all,

This time under somewhat trying conditions, from a very wet Lisarow on the Central coast. It’s just not the same when you’re away from your own little desk. So a brief update on the next 2 weeks and if I may be excused, I’ll skip out on next Monday and chime back in when I’m back in my “comfort zone” at home.

The biggest event centre over Easter seems to be at Bourke. Big thanks to Margaret there for such a good coverage. They start on Thursday morning with a Tag-a-long trip out to Toorale National Park, and continue with the longest table dinner on Friday. Then a fantastic Street Parade on Saturday, followed by a Race Meeting on Easter Sunday. They then finish off the festivities with a second Tag-along- Tour out to Gundabooka  on Easter Monday morning. And of course there’s heaps more going on in the township to keep you occupied.

If you are in Broken Hill reading this then duck down to Tri-State Office, there’s a 1 day Broken Hill / Silverton tour on tomorrow. After that you can check in to National Park’s office and see when the next tour is on out at Mootwingie National Park, heaps happening there.

Packsaddle Gymkhana and Bikehana, Pooncarie Gun Club, and ...

Good morning all,

Definitely pull out the ‘winter woollies’, where did autumn go?

Well the only events that pop up next weekend is the Packsaddle Gymkhana and Bikehana next Friday and Saturday. Which will give you all a great weekend anyway if you can make it. And the “Annabranch Picnic Sports Day”, that’s on Saturday the 8th. as well.

Then on our Easter weekend we have the following:

Lightning Ridge Easter Festival and Races. Everything happening there.

Easter at Bourke, long table dinner Friday, wool bale rolling Sat. Yet another Race meeting Sunday, as well as river cruises, camp oven meals, and lord knows what else.

Menindee you say, then there’s Community Markets on Easter Sunday.

The next weekend head to Ivanhoe, the Campdraft is on the 22/23rd. big weekend.
