Creative writing, and more

Hello to all,

In Bill's absence (Floriade and its floral wonders has beckoned) there isn't much to report at present. By all accounts the football at Menindee went extremely well and a great day of entertainment was enjoyed by all. “Riverina Truck Show and Kids Convoy” it’s on September 23 rd  . all afternoon down at Wagga Wagga. Call at the V.I.C. and the girls will assist you.

“Creative Writing” is happening in Ivanhoe on the 12th. October, more on that later. Races at “Little Randwick” on the 4th. November in Balranald.

Weather looks to be much warmer for the coming days, school holidays are imminent so take care on the roads. Remember to drop in on your local towns and pick up some information from visitor centres together with some fuel and supplies.

Ivanhoe School Dinner, Tree Climbing Challenge and more

Good morning to you all,

A few mistakes last week, wouldn’t be age, must be the weather! Thanks for your help Ray.

This weather is becoming a problem, just haven’t worked out how to turn it into an opportunity. Lots of good things happening in the coming weeks, and if I’ve left you out, send me a very stern email!

We have, this coming Thursday evening at the Ivanhoe school, a School Dinner and Movies featuring “Red Dog”, great movie and a really great evening for you travellers. Skip over to Broken Hill then for the Annual “Broken Heel Festival” over 3 days, 8-9-10th. Of course there’s enough to see in “The Hill” to fill in a fortnight, Markets, Galleries, Silverton, RFDS Base, Visitors Info. Centre, and so on.

If you’re near Balranald, check out the Tree Climbing Challenge, it’s on 11th to 13th., and you can’t leave then because the “Five Rivers Outback Festival” takes over from the 13th to 15th. Top little town Balranald, and heaps to keep you occupied, thanks Kathy.

If you can make it up to Menindee, you’ll have a feast of good football, with the Rugby League Knockout Carnival on the 16th. and if you can get there a day or two early, then “Menindee on Show” happens at 6 PM on the 14th. a really enjoyable night for you all, music dancing and capped off with a barbie.

Depending on where this leaves you, your next stop is Ivanhoe, as I said last week, drop your van with Wendy, and get an early start down to “The Kilfera Field Day”. A family day out just south of Ivanhoe. Back in to Ivanhoe that evening, counter tea at The Pub and live music as well. All ready for 2 fun packed days in the little town. You see there’s the “Ivanhoe Gymkhana and Rodeo”.
