White Cliffs Rodeo, Cobar “Grey Mardi Gras”, and more

Hello all,

Well, haven’t things changed in this neck of the woods in the last day, it was an election that nobody could call. And guess what? We line up again in May!

The other thing is, regardless, we still drive on the same roads tomorrow and the river still looks the same tomorrow!

And would you believe, we’ll still have a great time next Saturday night in White Cliffs. Remember, “one day Closer”. Dick and Honor have an extravaganza awaiting us, see you there.

If you find yourself in Broken Hill that day, (30th.) then don’t be disappointed, head for the Civic Centre and enjoy a night with “Abba”. Don’t stop at that either, go to the Visitors Info. Centre and those wonderful people will find you heaps to see.

Now I haven’t mentioned for a while, whilst in the Hill, go out to the RFDS Base at the aerodrome, and you can fill in a heap of time and thoroughly enjoy the history of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, meet some great people, and see for yourself how the iconic “School of the Air” operates.

Moving forward, the Cobar rodeo is on the 13th. April. Nearly April already. Then either side of that is the Cobar “Grey Mardi Gras”. Remember the poster last week? It goes from the 12th. to the 14th.. There won’t be standing room in Cobar that weekend, Sam and the crew at the Visitors Centre will have you rockin’.

We have the White Cliffs Rodeo and Gymkhana on the 27th. and overflowing into the 28th.  And May is another month still untouched!

Don’t forget to check out our fabulous radio stations, they all cover our “great outback area”, and are always there for info and a laugh.

Grey Mardi Gras, Wagga Food and Wine Festival and more

Hello everyone,

You didn’t hear from me Last Monday and my apologies, but a case of family first I’m afraid. Actually saw a HEAP of rain whilst away, all down on the coast unfortunately, but the mums loved it, hey, no football no netball!!!

Heaps of cars on the road today, coming back from St. Paddies races, no doubt a success as usual.

Nothing really has changed since my last epistle, but have to add the poster that I’ve attached, being the “Grey Mardi Gras” coming up in Cobar on the 12th -15th. April. Have a look at the poster, print it off if you will and spread the word. The Cobar mob are going to turn on some fun.

Now don’t forget if you’re heading to White Cliffs the underground Motel is open for business from TODAY! Also up there is the “One Day Closer” drought party on the 30th.

Also in between if you missed is the Wagga Food and Wine Festival on the 23rd.and the Deniliquin Aero Club Spectacular” both on the 23rd.

The 30th.also  sees “Abba” performing in the Broken Hill Civic Centre, how good’s that.

One for you in April, is the “Cobar Rodeo”, and if I go on further you’ll probably forget!! More for next week!

Broken Hill Community Markets, Drought Support Road Bus, and much more

Hello to you all,

Welcome back to a very uncertain year. Who would have thought when I last emailed you, we would still be without rain.

Never the less, I hope you all have a very successful tourism season, and that I can help you all in a very small way.

Let’s do a long range plan, and I will fill in the blanks as we paddle our way through.

First cab off the rank is Broken Hill. Their Community markets are on next Saturday, but don’t stop at that, duck on out to Silverton or Mt. Gipps and quench the thirst in style.

Then on the 12th. we have a “Drought Support Road Bus here in Wilcannia, to give support, advice and actual help  to landholders seeking advice and guidance on financial matters.

The 18th. sees the White Cliffs Underground Motel reopen for business. And of course we all have to gather on the 23rd. to cast our meaningful VOTE. (and back to the TV!)

Now also on the 23rd. (after you’ve voted of course), there’s a Food and Wine Festival on in Wagga, and an Aero Club Spectacular on at Deniliquin. How good would that be.

If  you head over to the Hill, you’ll have the opportunity to see “Abba” at the civic centre on the 30th. (as good as the air show, but can’t be at both!)

The 30th  March is also a big day/night in White Cliffs. It’s called “One Day Closer” to say g’day to “cockies and their friends”, you’ll be welcome.

Into April now, the Cobar Rodeo is the place to be on the 13th. Don’t forget Anzac Day on the 25th. Every town will welcome you, and then head back to White Cliffs for their annual Gymkhana and Rodeo on the 27th. We can only hope for rain beforehand.
