Ivanhoe football, Tilpa Gymkhana, and more

Good morning all,

We’re all over the back country this week, with events happening somewhere that you may be.

Just down the Cobb highway at Ivanhoe, you’ll find a massive day of football if you are at all sporty. 6 teams playing next Saturday in Ivanhoe, and no doubt you will find a night’s sleep at the Pub or with Wendy. The RSL will welcome you too I’m sure.

Milparinka is then turning it on with their Annual Gymkhana on the 11th. July, always a great weekend. And then you’re getting up towards the “500 miles of Music” country.

All the big singers are starting from Quorn on the 7th. July, moving on to the Blinman Hotel on the 8th, William Creek on the 10/11th. And finishing with the “Big Red Bash” at Birdsville on the 16 to 18th.

If you’re within cooee of any of those venues, there’ll be a heap of music.

You’ll have to hurry your way back down after that to catch up with a great day at Tilpa on the 20th. They’re having their Gymkhana that day, again, all welcome.

Green feed, Red Earth Opal Cafe music, care with wet roads

Good morning all,

Just got a bit carried away last week end, (long week end) and let you all down. Never mind, all events went well I believe, big roll up in Ivanhoe and a great outlook with heaps of green feed coming along. We can only hope the weather closes in on those who have missed out.

A few events happening still, starting with a great night of 50’s / 60’s music at the Red Earth Opal Cafe in White Cliffs this coming Thursday. Should be an enjoyable evening if you are within cooee of the Opal town.

If you’re down in the southern area, then drop in to Deniliquin, and enjoy the “Acacia Quartet” on Friday night and the sights of “Deni” for the weekend.

Moving across the state, as you do, we have the Scone Races on next Monday the 24th. While in that area of “the inside country”, the State Pony Club Show Jumping Championships are being held at Denman from the 6th. to the 9th. July. If you’re into horses and the like.

Stretching out a bit now, but equally as important is the Tilpa Gymkhana, and associated events, it’s all happening at Tilpa on the 20th. July. More on that when we get closer.

The next day the 21st. July will be worth while to be in Broken Hill at the Civic Centre for “A Taste of Ireland”. This will be fantastic, and you need to book to avoid disappointment.

Our Driver Reviver was well patronised last week end, absolutely amazing where people come from and are heading to.

The “Dustdrinkers B & S Ball”, Driver Reviver Van, amd more

Good morning to you all,

Bit late this week, the weekend was stronger than the body! I won’t even talk about the weather, ‘cept to say goodness it’s cold. Oh and Georgie at the ABC, don’t use hot water on your windscreen, stick to the credit card!

Long week end coming up, enjoy the everlasting hospitality of Ivanhoe, and go “Pig Hunting” the whole week end, 13 prizes to win. Probably a bit strenuous for caravaners but heaps of fun.

Go down a bit further to Hay. The “Dustdrinkers B & S Ball” next Saturday. Will that be a show and a half.

Now down in the “hospitality corner” of the state, you’ll find a big “Fly In” at Wentworth next Saturday, free admission, and all the trimmings. See the girls at the visitor Centre, they’ll have you moving!

Again, and still the long weekend, we have the Driver Reviver Van going again here in Wilcannia. Drop in and have a cuppa, a bikkie, a “pit stop” and a yarn. We’ll look after you.

How you’re going to do all that next week end I don’t Know.
