Good roads, Walgett Races and more

Good morning all,

Great to see so many travellers poking around our area, and no problems with wet roads either. In fact there is no rain in sight for the foreseeable future.

Please be cautious on the dirt roads though, our road gangs are doing their best but have a big task in front of them.

Now, what’s happening, we’re back in the bush again for a while and enjoying it!

The Sunset Strip Markets are happening next weekend the 21st. Duck down to Menindee and see heaps more while there. Then toodle up to Wilcannia, drop in to Nelia Gaari on the way, White Cliffs have their Biggest Morning Tea on 24th. for the Cancer Council, and catch the Wilcannia Markets on the 27th. in Baker Park. Just look at the country you’re going to see.

Again, if you’re passing through our little town, we have a big football day, 3 games would you believe, on the 3rd. June at the oval. Food stall and plenty of parking. Local teams as well as Broken Hill and Menindee.

Moving on, the Annual Pig Hunt is happening again in Ivanhoe on the long weekend, as well as activities at the RSL Club, drop in for a look.

But wait there’s more, the 17th. sees the Walgett Races if you’re up in that neck of the woods, and then on the 27th. the Melbourne Comedy Festival is putting on a show at the Broken Hill Civic Centre. Saves going to Melbourne doesn’t it!

I’m starting to run out of ideas for you all so safe travelling, please drop in to our little towns and say hi, we’d love to have a chat. The Darling river Run is now open, we have 24 hr. fuel for you here in Wilcannia so have fun and I’ll catch you all in a couple of weeks. Take care, Bill Elliott. WCTA.
