Fantastic weather, 5 Rivers Outback Festival and ...

Hi Everyone

What fantastic weather! You really wouldn’t be dead for quids, and there’s more to come, great sunny days although getting a bit colder later in the week. Well done John and Kim at Mt. Gipps Station, a record Dorper Ram sale just gone. And lots going on this week, then all roads lead to Ivanhoe next  weekend. Just as well you caught up on your book reading!

If you’re poking around the White Cliffs region, you need to check out Wendy’s Art group tomorrow (Tues.) starts at 1PM, and a lot of fun. Now if you’re still there on Thursday, and you’re missing your home Bowling Club, then Ron has Indoor Bowls happening at the Hall on Thursday. Then you may as well stay on and be part of the Gem Fest and Car Boot Sale on next Saturday and Sunday. There’s your week filled in!!

However if your down the south end then the Yanga Homestead Tours are on at Balranald, probably some Tag along Tours as well, (see NPWS website), and then head up to Ivanhoe. Dig in there, as you have the Kilfera Field day next Friday, eat out in friendly downtown Ivanhoe Friday night and have a ball at the Gymkhana and Campdraft on Saturday and Sunday. What a weekend.

Incidentally, if you’d be interested in taking care of a little property right on the river (fishing!), looking after a few elderly chooks and 2 dogs just out of Wilcannia, 9th. to 14th. next month give me a ring, 0429915467.

Before that though is the 5 Rivers Outback Festival at Balranald, it’s on 9th. to 11th. Oct. And you’ll definitely have a ball, great town. But if you are not at Balranald, you may be near Nyngan, ‘cause there’s Open Garden Day there on Sunday 11th. (have a look at “The Big Bogan”).

Again, stay tuned to our fantastic radio stations, ABC 657, 999, and 1584. Outback 2WEB 585, 2BH 567, River Radio 103.1 FM, and Broken Hill 107.7 2Dry FM. (not 107.1 my mistake)

An important NOTICE, Laurel’s Quilting and Craft Day in Ivanhoe has been postponed. Will let you know more later. And there’s a “Carbon Conference” coming up in Cobar on the 28th. 29th. Oct. Again more later.

Take care, drive safely, don’t go past anyone without saying “G day”.  Till next week  Bill Elliott.
